WIND AND RAIN GONE

After the dark days of wind and rain, we now have sunshine in London and it looks lovely....wonderful.
Visits to our website newchillingtales.com and viewings of the films are rather slower than I hoped, but it takes time for people to find us and watch them. I am a very impatient person as friends will tell you, but I am getting the word about as much as I can. However when Google becomes your mainline of communication online, reaching out to the many millions of users, who could be potential viewers becomes very challenging.
I am discussing the new film THE YELLOW WALLPAPER with friends and they are enthusiastic. As Patricia Doyle, the Director of BEWARE OF WHAT YOU WISH FOR pointed out, the woman in the story could be in the early stages of dementia....as opposed to suffering from post partum depression, a more believable illness for me (playing the part), being of a certain age!
I have run into dementia directly a couple of times in the last two months. It’s a sad disease...seeing a friend whom you’ve known on and off for years, suddenly is someone who doesn’t recognise you and that lovely vibrant person seems to have retreated into a world of their own... unreachable. Must do some more research on it.
Both the films we have up now deal with human frailty, BEWARE OF WHAT YOU WISH FOR, simple human greed and THE TELL-TALE HEART a form of obsessive compulsive disorder and now the defencelessness of the human mind. All these classic stories go back to the good old human condition, it’s fascinating and is what makes the horror and mystery stories always appealing.
Although the reviews for DARK SHADOWS are not brilliant here in the UK, the numbers (money taken) are not bad, which just goes to show that scary stories still sell, vampires, witches, graves being opened. Even Christopher Lee is in it.
